Girlboss, boyboss, bully, cool kid, daddy, babe weaves a cartoon-like aesthetic with subtle emotional resonances. The work addresses Western gender constructions, social hierarchies, and self-staging in the era of social media. The title serves as a critical reference to common labels, prompting their deconstruction and redefinition.

“The exhibition at Opernring 17 is a unique collaboration with the Austrian Pavilion at the 59th International Art Ex-hibition – La biennale di Venezia. Exactly two weeks after the official opening in Venice, a presentation conceived and produced in parallel by artists Ashley Hans Scheirl and Jakob Lena Knebl opened in Vienna. The exhibition pre-sents the work of Scheirl and Knebl alongside that of their students at the Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Applied Arts respectively.“
